Channel 5 Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen shares rare admission about her nine children

Amanda Owen, the star of Our Yorkshire Farm, made a rare and heartbreaking confession about her children during a repeat episode of the Channel 5 show.

The episode, whick aired this Saturday (October 19). focused on fell racing, an event the family usually attends at the Muker show. However, due to the pandemic, the show was cancelled, leaving the family disappointed but determined to organise their own race. Amanda and her older children embarked on a challenging race around their vast farm and its surrounding landscape, with even the younger kids participating in a mini race.

The course traversed sweeping landscapes and rocky terrain, including near-horizontal cliff faces and a metal fence above a large river. After the race, where Amanda placed fourth, she expressed immense pride in her children as they all enjoyed celebratory iced buns.

Despite their lack of proper training or equipment, Amanda said: "They're all happy. That is terrain like you wouldn't believe! They haven't been to running club, they haven't been training," before adding: "They've got rubbish trainers, they haven't got kit."

She explained that they usually would participate in their wellies, and she couldn't be more proud of them for trying, reports .

about her pride for her children's individuality: "I absolutely am. I've got nine kids. They're all very different characters. Raven's very academic, she's working as a scientist and still studying. I'm so proud of her. Reuben too, he's doing something completely different, but doing what he loves. It's the same with the others, they've all got their own personalities."

She also spoke about the benefits of farm life for her children: "Being here on the farm is the best school you could ever wish for because it gives you the space and room to find out what you love and what you hate. I'm not for one minute thinking that they're all going to be farmers, but they have got such huge opportunities to channel what they like," expressing her hopes that some of her offspring might eventually take over the family farm.
