Chicken Shop Date fans spot moment Andrew Garfield 'stops faking it' with Amelia Dimoldenberg

Send Push

Amelia Dimoldenberg's latest Chicken Shop Date episode has dropped and in it Hollywood star Andrew Garfield asks the presenter on a "real date".

And given that Andrew, 41, has waited until he's split with his girlfriend, "professional witch" Dr Kate Tomas, to appear on Amelia's beloved Chicken Shop Date series, fans are hoping for some long-awaited romance.

The pair have a history of flirting when they're filmed on red carpet interviews and there's an undeniable connection, with Andrew quite clearly keen.

On the anticipated episode, which was released on Friday, Amelia let her deadpan facade drop a few times, with Spider-Man star Andrew firing questions back at her.

Joking about whether winning an Oscar, instead of being merely nominated for one, would make him "hotter", Amelia said: "I actually don't care if you are an Oscar winner or not," adding she already thinks the actor is "kinda hot".

Andrew then puts his cards on the table, telling Amelia, 30: "I think we’d have a really nice time without the camera. I think we’d just enjoy each other's company."

Amelia replies: "I think we should be friends. We could hang out," then asks: "Wait, did I just friendzone this situation?" When Andrew agrees that she did, she regrets it, saying: 'I shouldn't have done that." Amelia goes on to remind Andrew: "You have my number," recalling he asked for it "at a party".

WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE

Andrew then opens up, boldly saying: "I feel like this is just like, should be a practice round. I think we should do it again, actually, and better," adding: "I know we’ve like, paid for everything."

Amelia quips: "I've paid for everything."

Neither of the pair wants to end the interview, with Andrew asking at one point: "How do we stop?"

Fans have absolutely leaned in to the possibility of a date between them.

One wrote: "This video is either an absolute masterclass in acting or a public declaration of true love, there's no in between." Another gushed: "He was so genuine that she couldn’t even put on her awkward persona, with another pleading: "Pls go on a date without the cameras and fall in love and don’t tell anyone about it and just live happily ever after u both deserve it."

Others thought there was no denying that the two should be together, one commented: "The amount of times this man asked if she was being real or if it's for the camera is all the proof i need to know that he's down bad." Someone else noticed: "She keeps trying to go back into character and then sort of forgets she’s supposed to be in character. It’s adorable."

One social media user joked: "My head: they’re performers, my heart: they’re soulmates." Another asserted: "He literally was like if the cameras weren’t here I’d take you on a real date. I can’t."
