Christmas selection box fury as Cadbury 'makes bold Double Decker decision'

fans have erupted in fury after was believed to ditch a popular snack from its classic selection boxes.

The Double Decker will reportedly no longer be featured in the Santa Selection Box. It is instead making room for the caramel , which is only around half the size. Cadbury has also shrunk the size of the box down to 125g compared to 145g last year - a 14% reduction.

Devoted chocolate lovers have railed against the decision to shake-up the boxes. One user said "Christmas is ruined", while another accused Cadbury of waging a "war on Christmas". Another called for "a revolution against this chocolate tyranny". The contacted Cadbury for comment.

Cadbury along with other British chocolatiers like Rowntree's began the tradition of festive chocolate selection boxes in the early 20th century, and they are now regarded by many as as a Christmas Day staple, reports . The Double Decker bar was meanwhile launched in the 1970s.

The controversial Double Decker ditching comes after a - with some finding it an intriguing combination while others dubbed it "totally vile". Describing the flavour as "milk chocolate with a flowing raspberry lemonade flavoured centre," Dairy Milk launched the special edition Pink Lemonda chocolate to mixed reactions.

A post from NewFoodsUK on showed off the inside of the new chocolate bar and said in the caption: "New Pink Lemonade Cadbury Dairy Milk bar!! This is a very strange combo but does indeed work very well! We got this online at @worldsnacksuk."

While the bar delighted the Instagram shopper, some in the comments were less than impressed. One Instagram comment summed up the split among fans of the chocolate, writing: "Not sure about this one" while another wrote: "Can’t deny, that sounds totally vile."
