Emmerdale's shock affair to impact two families and it could lead to revenge twist

Emmerdale will air the start of a new fling it seems next week, as two characters end up sleeping together.

While one of the pair is at the centre of a messy divorce, amid their ex hoping to reconcile, the other is unaware his former lover wants him back. Their romance drama doesn't stop the pair giving into passion next week with a steamy kiss, before taking things upstairs.

It could lead to a dramatic revenge plot by one scorned villager if the truth comes out, given his recent nasty tactics. Laurel Thomas finds herself rowing with vicar Charles Anderson about a looming event, with both of them having differing ideas.

But as they scream at each other after Laurel goes against Charles' request, things take a surprising turn when the pair begin kissing. Soon they end up upstairs, but will they be found out?

Charles was only recently in a relationship with Manpreet Sharma, while the pair hit the rocks in recent months following the death of Charles' son Ethan. Manpreet ends up confiding in former stepson Jai about her woes, amid her advising him about Laurel.

But what neither of the villagers are aware of is the fact her ex partner and Jai's ex-wife Laurel are getting rather close back at Charles' house. This would no doubt be the final straw for Jai after Laurel dumped him, amid him refusing to let her move on.

He's been bitterly messing her around when it comes to their separation, trying to stop her getting any money or assets. It's led to drama with Laurel's son Arthur Thomas, so how will the family react to the latest twist in the tale?

If Jai finds out about Charles he will possibly target Laurel once more, or might he turn his anger towards Charles? Then there's Manpreet who has struggled to support grieving Charles recently.

While she's keen to give things another go, surely him sleeping with another woman in the village will be enough to tear them apart for good? Whether either of them or any other resident will find out the truth remains to be seen.

That said this is Emmerdale, and nothing tends to stay a secret in that village for very long. With the lead-up to Christmas in full swing, might we find there's drama ahead as the festive period hits the village, or perhaps the truth will come out sooner than that?
