Escape to the Country presenter Ginny Buckley was on a mission in Wales, helping Bev and her son Joe hunt for the ideal property that would also be a haven for her dog Indie. Bev, who was currently living out of a campervan in Hampshire after selling her house, was in search of a new start.
Tragically, Bev revealed the heartache behind her move, telling viewers: "My husband and I always wanted to have a nice place to move onto as our forever home. But unfortunately, he died in March last year so now it's just me and Indie."
With a generous budget of £450,000 and a need for ample outdoor space, Ginny got down to business. Before kicking off their property quest, the host checked in with Bev about her feelings on moving solo, especially after such a difficult year due to her husband's passing.
Bev expressed her nervousness as she told the BBC star she was: "Apprehensive slightly, I'm used to having my husband there to see the things that I don't always see. So, this would be the first house that I actually see myself and decide on so that's quite a big move."
Her son, however, was thrilled about the prospect of his mum finding a new place, believing it essential for her to move forward in the way she desired. The importance of garden space was evident, as Bev was thoroughly impressed by the first property they visited, reports .
The search took them to Llansadwrn, where Bev was presented with a four-acre property featuring an external annexe, two bedrooms, and a contemporary extension, all priced at £450,000.
Upon seeing the property, Bev shared her approval: "It's definitely worth the money I think, it's lovely, a lovely place."
In the episode, Ginny brought Bev and Joe to the seaside to discuss her late husband and her quest for a new home. Bev shared: "I know I'm quite independent anyway but I've always had my husband there in the background but I have to do something different now, so I'm quite looking forward to the challenge."
Bev received encouragement from Ginny, who assured her that her husband would be supporting her from afar as she embarked on her property hunt. The presenter of Escape to the Country praised her, saying: "I think it's incredibly brave of you and just brilliant that you're seizing life."
Her son expressed his admiration for his mother's courage, stating: "She's done exactly what dad would've wanted her to do, I think."
He envisioned the whole family enjoying the area, adding: "It'll be great for all of our family to come down and explore the area with my mum and spend some real quality time."
Despite viewing several properties, Bev couldn't shake off her affection for the first house. Joe concurred with his mother's sentiment about the house, telling Ginny that Bev fell for it instantly.
Ginny sought her son's opinion on what his father would have thought of the place. He responded with confidence: "Oh, he would be over the moon, I think he would've been very proud."
