Frank Lampard is reportedly on the brink of being appointed as the new manager at Coventry City. The 46-year- year old ex-England star is believed to be leading the race to succeed Mark Robins.
Since his departure from following dismissal, has been away from the managerial spotlight but remains committed to a future in English football's front line.
Coventry's owner Doug King, who recently ended Robins's seven-year tenure after a disappointing loss to Derby County, seems to favour a more prominent figure for the role at CBS Arena, reports .

Despite early speculation around Wycombe Wanderers' Matt Bloomfield, it's Lampard who is now tipped to take charge, potentially stepping in before the Sky Blues' next fixture against a high-flying Sheffield United post-international break.
Coventry icon Steve Ogrizovic expressed his dismay at Robins's exit to BBC CWR, saying: "Very few things in football shock me but this is a poor decision," and adding, "It's not a knee-jerk decision because I think this is planned and Doug King has got a plan in the back of his mind, although what that is I don't know."
He further commented: "Mark Robins had more to give, look at the club since the day he came in and it's been year-on-year success and progression.
"The sun has been shining on Coventry and they got back into the Championship and along the way there were some great memories for people.
"The stadium is full now and it wasn't when Mark Robins first came to the club."
