Arsenal legend Wright though believes Liverpool can go the distance, and relayed a simple message that he believes could lead them to the Premier League crown.

“They have got the kind of quality, that on the break, bam, you’re in trouble,” he said on the latest episode of his podcast .

“They look very calm, the manager is calm, they seem to be playing a lot more football that when the opportunity comes to break, they break very, very well.

“They are taking it one game at a time, which is perfect. If they continue doing that, they will win the league, as simple as that. If they continue doing that, they will win the league. So, it’s up to people to try and catch them.”

Liverpool.com says: We’re certainly not going to count our chickens yet, but there plenty of promising signs for Liverpool at the moment. It’s still very early days in the season, and we will find out a lot more about how the season will pan out after the international break – not just at Anfield, but at City and Arsenal as well.

Hopefully Liverpool’s international players can come through the break unscathed and return fit and firing ready for a crucial set of fixtures. If they can head into January still top of the league, then something special may be in store this season.
