'I'm a beauty editor and Amazon Prime Day saved me £120 on my basket of beauty products'

As a beauty editor I'm lucky enough to get sent lots of products to test out and review, but there are some beauty staples that I use and buy over and over again, and with well underway – plus sales on at other retailers – I'll be shopping today to save me as much money as possible.

Today marks day two of Amazon's last big sale event before , and there are hundreds of amazing beauty deals on offer from big-name brands including Medik8, ghd and The Ordinary. This makes it an excellent time to stock up on some old (or new) favourites, while saving yourself money while doing so.

All strengths of Medik8 Crystal Retinal , making them cheaper than at other retailers including Sephora, LookFantastic and Medik8's own website. The exact discount amount varies between the strengths – ranging from 20%-24% off – with the exact one I currently use (, a good starting point for skin that's not too super sensitive) down from £49 to £39.20. It makes my skin look clearer, brighter and more plump – and I'll definitely be stocking up.

A viral hit for a good reason, I don't know many beauty editors who don't love – it lengthens, lifts, separates and, most importantly for me, doesn't flake or smudge all day long.

It's one of the very best affordable mascaras, IMO – and now even more so, . A great little extra to add to your Amazon basket if you're doing a big shop.

first went viral during lockdown, and has since continued to be a huge hit ever since. I'm actually still yet to try it, having a cupboard full of serums and essences to get through first, but after seeing beauty influencer Jamie Genevieve recently rave about it and the dewy look it gives to skin, I've added it to my basket today now that it's , down from £23.99 to little more than £10.

When I saw pop up on Amazon's Prime Day Deals page, I added it to my basket immediately; I haven't used it for a while but I was instantly reminded just how good this shampoo and conditioner is, giving me the perfect balance between detangling hydration and a clean, lightweight feel.

, while the 'regular' Hydrate products are ideal for thick hair. You can buy the shampoos and conditioners individually too, also all currently on sale.

Remington Shine Therapy Hair Straightener

OK, so a pair of straighteners isn't a regular buy, but if you're looking for a new pair after seeing how popular they were last Prime Day – and for the price, I'm really impressed. , and don't need more than a couple of passes over each section to leave it straight, swishy and shiny. They eliminate any frizz, without leaving strands feeling sizzled or too hot. Definitely worth checking out.
