This Morning was thrown into chaos as Gyles Brandreth spat his drink out leaving and speechless.
The presenting duo returned to our TV screens as they took on hosting suits for Wednesday’s episode of the hit daytime show.
They were joined by show regulars Gyles Brandreth, 76, and Vanessa Feltz, 62, as they discussed the day's top stories but it was one moment that took them by surprise.
During one segment they all decided to try Dua Lipa’s spicy coke recipe. The singer caused a stir online after sharing a clip to TikTok on how she prefers to drink Diet Coke.
She poured one container of sliced pickles, one container of jalapenos as well as an entire container of pickle juice into her fizzy drink.
Just before tasting the questionable drink, Gyles started off by saying: “The Jalapenos are the one thing I am worried about because they are chilli and they could be hot.”
Ben agreed as he jumped in and said: “Yes they can be.” Gyles added: “What is wrong with Diet Coke, why does it need these extra things?"
Host Ben was the first to take a sip and it was clear that he didn’t enjoy the drink as he pulled a face and said: “We’ve put the pickle juice in already so just prepare yourself, Gyles. Prepare your face.”
Gyles was hesitant to try the drink but he after some prompting he took a big sip. Things then took a turn for the worse as he spat the drink out all over his co-stars.
Vanessa, who was sitting next to him, was not impressed as she moved back and shouted: “Oh my God.” Gyles was apologetic after his blunder as he replied: “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. It hit the back of the throat all of a sudden.”
Ben and Cat were left speechless as Gyles continued: “I’m so sorry for that but it’s quite nice." Ben was stunned as he shouted: “What!”
Vanessa pointed out: “Yeah right. He doesn’t like it really.” Gyles explained: “It’s a little bit like a Bloody Mary.”
Ben added: “Yes with the heat of it.” Cat couldn’t contain herself and burst out laughing. It was clear that Gyles was mortified by the situation as he said: “Honestly I am so sorry and I promise I will do my own cleaning up. I apologize.”
Cat joked: “What about my dry cleaning?” Gyles added: “I am sorry.”
