Marks and Spencer has announced its Christmas Food to Order service is open from today.

There may still be three months to go until December 25, but M&S shoppers who are keen to get ahead of the curve can now order their entire Christmas dinner online. Food to Order allows customers to order their Christmas food shop in advance, ready for pick up at your local M&S on December 22, 23 or 24.

Keep in mind there is a minimum spend of £50 and you’re required to put a deposit down to secure your shop. The outstanding balance is then cleared when you pick up your goods. You can book your slot on the M&S Food to Order website and browse its full Christmas range online now.

Last year, a record-breaking 44,000 customers booked their Christmas collection slots within the first day of the site launching - and M&S is expecting another record number of people this year. The supermarket has already sold over one million Christmas products in stores.

It comes after M&S sparked excitement last week when it posted a “Christmas Food To Order” countdown on Instagram and Facebook. The posts received a record number of likes, comments and shares as customers tagged friends and family to start the festive planning.

M&S has shared some of its top picks from its Christmas range, including its Our Best Ever Slow-Cooked Turkey which it calls "the star of the show this Christmas" - but it will cost you £85 for a 2.75kg bird, which it says serves between eight and ten people.

Marks and Spencer describes the turkey as: "Expertly slow-cooked free-range Pembrokeshire turkey crown is brined in buttermilk for tenderness and sweetness. The thighs are topped with a rich chestnut and pork stuffing and covered in our signature dry-cured oak and applewood smoked bacon."

There is also a new M&S Collection British Wagyu Rump Of Beef, priced at £60 for a 1kg joint. The description from M&S reads: "This 30-day matured British Wagyu rump is luxuriously succulent and tender, specially sourced for its beautifully marbled quality. This is bound to be a showstopper at the dinner table this year! It's elevated with a beef bone marrow and mustard butter for basting while cooking."

For dessert, M&S is selling its Our Best Ever Yule Log, 835g, priced at £15. M&S said: "The Christmas classic has had a serious upgrade. This truly is the best Yule Log ever. A chocolate sponge filled with Madagascan vanilla cream and milk and dark Madagascan chocolate ganache. Hand-finished with a rich Belgian chocolate ganache and chocolate curls. Fudgy, gooey and moreish – this is sure to be a crowd please this Christmas."
