Viktor Gyokeres makes Thierry Henry Arsenal admission after Atletico Madrid win

Viktor Gyokeres broke his goal drought - and immediately declared his ambition to deliver silverware. Arsenal dismantled Atletico Madrid with a breath-taking four-goal salvo at the Emirates Stadium, establishing themselves as serious Champions League challengers.

The Gunners' frontman, who arrived for £64million during the summer transfer window, ended a 600-minute wait for a goal before adding a second just three minutes later, whilst Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli also found the net.

After the game, Gyokeres said: "We want to win trophies, that's our desire and that's the most important thing and of course I want to contribute and score goals.

"To score four and keep a clean sheet again is very good. We always keep going. We do the things right when we defend and when we get the chances we are extremely strong in taking those."

"Both my goals were great. I try to do my best all the time and work hard, contribute with different stuff and the goals would have come sooner or later."

The striker also insisted more goals would follow, particularly given he's inherited Arsenal iconThierry Henry's legendary No14 jersey.

"It feels great, to be honest. There's a lot of goals in this shirt. It feels amazing," the Sweden international told CBS.

"To be honest, there weren't many shirt numbers available but when 14 was available, it was a big honour."

Arsenal's managerMikel Arteta, then commented: "He makes us a much better team. I think we've become much more unpredictable.

"He's so physical, open, his face is for everybody. The way he presses the ball, holds the ball, that's phenomenal.

"I think he deserved it because everything that we were seeing in terms of what he was bringing to the team and how much he was helping the team in many areas, apart from scoring goals in the last few weeks, there was no debate about that.

"It was about keeping that belief in himself, that emotional state that he can enjoy and play freely. Again, it was one of those two goals, and as you said, a big smile on his face.

"I look at his teammates as well, in the picture and the video, they are all so happy for him because he fully deserved it."
