New methods of cyber fraud are coming to the fore every day. Now a scam is going on on WhatsApp which is being called the 'Blur Image Scam'. People are getting trapped in the clutches of this scam and becoming victims of hacking. So let's know what this scam is and what you should do to avoid it.

This scam starts with a message coming from an unknown number on WhatsApp, which contains a blurred photo. Also, a message is written in it which provokes your curiosity, such as "Is this your old photo?" or "Look, maybe it is you in it!". After reading such messages, most people try to open that picture and this becomes their biggest mistake.

As soon as you click on the photo, you are sent to a link which is linked to a fake website. On this website, you are asked for bank details, OTP, or personal information. In some cases, this link also installs a virus or spyware in your phone, which can slowly hack the phone.

The result is that your bank account can be emptied, social media accounts can be hacked and your photos or data can be leaked.

The most dangerous thing about this scam is that it traps you by playing with your emotions. Therefore, it is very important to be cautious before clicking on any message or photo from an unknown number.

Keep WhatsApp's privacy settings strong, turn on two-step verification, and install a good anti-virus on the phone. If you click by mistake, change the password immediately and inform the bank. Remember, one click can put your entire privacy at risk.
