Here's why Melania Trump skipped meeting First Lady Jill Biden

“She ain’t going” - a source close to The Post said while explaining Melania Trump’s decision to refuse an invite from First Lady Jill Biden to the White House. As per a long-run custom in the US political space, the sitting party in case of a change of government invites the new-elect representatives for a traditional post-election meeting. That’s why the Bidens had invited the Trump family on November 13.

Why did Melania Trump refuse Jill Biden’s invite?

As per The Post, Melania Trump brought up the Biden administration's previous raid on Mar-a-Lago which was a part of the federal government's inquiry into classified information. The source added, “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting. Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet.”

While Melania is giving it a miss, President-elect Donald Trump will sit with President Joe Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday.

Did you know Melania Trump had not invited Jill Biden last term?

As per the custom, the First Lady is expected to host their replacement for tea in the White House. After Trump’s win in 2016, then-First Lady Michelle Obama invited Melania for a tour of the White House as well. However, when Republicans lost in 2020, they failed to invite the Bidens breaking decades-old tradition.

Their reason was that Trump was not ready to concede defeat in that election and accused the Democrats of ‘stealing the election’ and committing widespread voter fraud.

For the unversed, in August 2022, the FBI raided Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence following allegations of him withholding classified White House documents. In a September interview with Fox and Friends, Melania called it an invasion of privacy and admitted, “Yeah, it made me angry… I saw unpleasant stuff that nobody wanted to see. And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff.”

This case was dismissed by US District Judge Aileen Cannon in July.
