Several teams, despite having the game in their grasp at one point, faced shocking turnarounds in the end. It can be failing to chase modest targets or losing control while defending them. Gujarat Titans (GT) faced a heartbreaking exit in the IPL 2025 Eliminator clash against on May 31. The five-time champions posted a commanding total of 228 after electing to bat. MI opener Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 81 off 50 balls and was well-supported by Jonny Bairstow (47 off 22), Suryakumar Yadav (33 off 20), and some late fireworks from Tilak Varma (25 off 11) and Hardik Pandya (22 off 9). In response, GT opener Sai Sudharsan put up a tough fight with 80 off 49, and put together a crucial partnership with Washington Sundar (48 off 24), but GT fell short by 20 runs in an emotional end to their campaign.

 achieved a historic feat in IPL 2025 by completing their first-ever league double over Chennai Super Kings (CSK). RCB posted a formidable total of 213 with the help of a powerful opening partnership between Virat Kohli (62 off 33) and Jacob Bethell (55 off 33) before Romario Shepherd provided a monstrous finish with a blistering unbeaten 53 off just 14. In response, CSK fell agonizingly short by just two runs. Ayush Mhatre fought with a sensational 94 off 48 balls, while Ravindra Jadeja contributed an unbeaten 77 off 45, but it was not enough to seal the win.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) looked to have the game in control against Delhi Capitals (DC), but a sensational finish by turned the tide in a dramatic way during their IPL 2025 clash. LSG posted a total of 209 in the first innings with the help of Mitchell Marsh’s explosive 72 off 36 and Nicholas Pooran's fiery 75 off 30. In response, DC looked down and out until debutant Vipraj Nigam (39 off 15) and Ashutosh Sharma (66* off 31) staged a remarkable comeback. Their partnership gave LSG one of the biggest upsets of the season as they lost the game by a narrow margin of one wicket.

Delhi Capitals (DC) posted a modest total of 188 in the first innings, but Rajasthan Royals (RR) came close to pulling off a thrilling win from the support of solid half-centuries by Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 37) and Nitish Rana (51 off 28). With just nine runs needed in the final over, showcased his brilliance under pressure and delivered a near-perfect over to tie the game. Starc once again displayed his experience while restricting RR to just 12 runs in the Super Over. DC chased it down comfortably and handed the 2008 champions a heartbreaking defeat in a game they almost had in their hand.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) endured another last-over heartbreak in IPL 2025, but this time against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). LSG posted a competitive total of 180, with the help from Aiden Markram (66 off 45) and Ayush Badoni (50 off 34). In reply, RR looked on course for a win with Yashasvi Jaiswal slamming a brilliant 74 off 52. However, with just nine runs needed in the final over, delivered a superb last over by restricting RR and handing them a narrow two-run defeat.
