Diwali to Diwali : 10 equity funds offer over 20% XIRR on your SIP investments

Nearly 10 equity mutual funds have offered over 20% XIRR on SIP investments since the last Diwali celebrated on October 31, 2024.There were 279 equity mutual funds in the said time period, of which 276 gave positive returns and three gave negative returns.

Groww Multicap Fund, the topper in the list, offered the highest XIRR of around 25.97% on SIP investments since the last Diwali. A monthly SIP of Rs 10,000 in this fund would have been Rs 1.10 lakh now. Invesco India Midcap Fund gave an XIRR of 24.69% in the said time period.

Helios Large & Mid Cap Fund and ICICI Pru Flexicap Fund gave an XIRR of 23.82% and 23.22% respectively since the last Diwali.


Motilal Oswal Large & Midcap Fund offered an XIRR of 22.33% since the last Diwali on SIP investments. A monthly SIP of Rs 10,000 in this fund would have been Rs 1.33 lakh now. Kotak Focused Fund posted an XIRR of 22.06% in the said time period.

Mirae Asset Midcap Fund delivered an XIRR of 20.55% since the last Diwali followed by two funds from ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. ICICI Pru Focused Equity Fund and ICICI Pru Midcap Fund posted an XIRR of 20.31% and 19.86% in the said time period.

HDFC Flexi Cap Fund delivered an XIRR of 18.20% since the last Diwali. Three flexi cap funds - Kotak Flexicap Fund, Aditya Birla SL Flexi Cap Fund, and PGIM India Flexi Cap Fund - delivered an XIRR of 16.46%, 16.43%, and 16.30% respectively since the last Diwali

HDFC Mid Cap Fund posted a XIRR of 15.21% on SIP investments since the last Diwali.Motilal Oswal Large Cap Fund offered an XIRR of 15.09% since October 31, 2024. Two mid cap funds - Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund and Bandhan Midcap Fund gave an XIRR of 14.81% and 14.79% respectively in the said time period.

Two funds from Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund - Franklin India Large & Mid Cap Fund and Franklin India Multi Cap Fund gave an XIRR of 14.09% and 14.03% respectively in the mentioned time period.

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, the largest active fund and flexi cap fund based on assets managed, gave an XIRR of 13.31% since the last Diwali. HDFC Small Cap Fund gave an XIRR of 13.02% in the same period.

ICICI Pru Multicap Fund was the last one in the list to deliver double digit XIRR on SIP investments since the last Diwali. Taurus Mid Cap Fund gave 9.99% since the last Diwali.

Quant Small Cap Fund posted an XIRR of 8.31% since the last Diwali, followed by Bajaj Finserv Large and Mid Cap Fund which gave 8.28% in the same period.

Quant Mid Cap Fund was the last one in the list to deliver positive XIRR since the last Diwali. The fund gave an XIRR of 0.61%.

Negative performers
Samco Flexi Cap Fund and Samco Multi Cap Fund lost the most on SIP investments since the last Diwali. The funds lost 6.09% and 3.61% respectively in the said period.

Tata Small Cap Fund delivered a negative XIRR of 0.13% on SIP investments since the last Diwali.

We considered all equity and equity oriented funds including sectoral, thematic, and equity oriented hybrid funds. We considered regular and growth options. We calculated the SIP performance between October 31, 2024 to October 17, 2025.

Note, the above exercise is not a recommendation. The exercise was done to find how equity mutual funds have performed since last Diwali.
