Vikas Khanna's restaurant, Bungalow, located in the heart of New York, has become a sought-after dining destination for national and international celebrities alike. Recently, Bollywood icon, Shah Rukh Khan, celebrated his 59th birthday. While wishes for him poured over from worldwide, which gained significant attention was a heartfelt note by Chef Vikas Khanna.

The renowned chef, known for welcoming dignitaries and global culinary icons to his exclusive restaurant, Bungalow, shared a sweet birthday note for Shah Rukh Khan on X. His caption read, “Long Live The King. Forever.”

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, another recent high-profile visit was of Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, and his daughter Isha Ambani, who dined at Bungalow. Chef Khanna’s flagship restaurant, known for its luxurious and personalized dining experiences, has gained immense popularity in New York, with reservations filling up instantly upon release.

A Grand Welcome for the Ambanis
Vikas Khanna traditionally welcomed the Ambanis. With lit diyas, six varieties of Isha’s favourite roses and sanctified with Ganga Jal. Further, the restaurant paid tribute to the Ambani legacy, by creating a unique logo with marigold flowers, adding a personal and memorable touch to the event.

The Popularity of Bungalow

Established in March 2024, Vikas Khanna’s restaurant, Bungalow, has quickly made its mark in New York City's competitive dining scene. Situated in the city’s core, Bungalow has cultivated a devoted following and garnered praise not only for its distinctive cuisine but also for its homage to Indian heritage. In collaboration with restaurateur Jimmy Rizvi, Khanna crafted the Bungalow as a space that evokes the warmth and nostalgia of an Indian home. With décor that includes heritage items like family photos and Indian cookbooks, alongside authentic dishes, the restaurant offers an experience steeped in India’s rich cultural traditions. In the last eight months, it has been sold out in seconds every day and Vikas Khanna shared a video expressing his gratitude for the success.


Bungalow has also established itself as a go-to restaurant for celebrities, food critics and locals alike. Guests can enjoy flavours from across the country, such as Delhi’s tangy Shakkarkandi Chaat or tender Lamb Seekh Kebabs paired with a pickled kumquat thecha. The restaurant is a heartfelt tribute to his late sister, Radhika, and reflects her favourite flavours. One of the signature dishes is Ammi’s Lamb Chops, prepared with raw papaya, aamchur, and jaggery.
