Malayalam actress Minu Muneer has come forward with some more shocking revelations of the exploitation she had to suffer during her time in Mollywood. The actress told India Today that actor-director Balachandra Menon forced her to watch group sex in his room in 2007. She claimed that the ‘Ammayane Sathyam’ director got intimate with three women in the room. There were also other witnesses to the act.

"There were a few other men sitting and watching. There were three girls and him in the room engaged in it. I walked out of the room. He asked me to sit and watch," Muneer told India Today.

Muneer had accused several individuals, such as actor Jayasurya and CPI(M) MLA Mukesh, of physical and verbal abuse. Her allegations came in the wake of the Hema Committee report, which highlighted issues of sexual exploitation in the Malayalam film industry.

Earlier, Muneer gave a detailed narration of her ordeal through an emotional post on Facebook. . She said she experienced physical and verbal abuse by seven men. The individuals named in her complaint include Babu, actor-politician Mukesh, well-known Malayalam actor Jayasurya, Maniyan Pilla Raju, advocate Chandrasekaran, production controller Noble, and a person identified as Vichu.

She explained that, although she made efforts to remain professional and collaborate with the people involved, the mistreatment only worsened over time. Eventually, the situation became unbearable, forcing her to make the difficult choice to leave her career as a result of the relentless harassment she endured.

The Justice Hema Committee report, released on August 19, noted that the Malayalam film industry is dominated by around 10 to 15 male producers, directors, and actors who hold significant power. Muneer also mentioned receiving multiple calls from people attempting to settle the matter with money.

On September 25, the Special Investigation Team arrested Malayalam actor Edavela Babu following a complaint by Minu Muneer accusing him of abuse. He was later released on anticipatory bail.

The first FIR against actor and CPI (M) MLA from Kollam, Mukesh M, was filed on August 28 after a complaint from Muneer.
