Vikrant Massey supports live-in relationships but has a fear despite his mother's approval

Vikrant Massey is an established actor in the industry. Recently, he spoke about his views on live-in relationships, quote cautiously. Despite the Supreme Court of India declaring that a live-in relationship without marriage is neither a criminal offence nor illegal, it remains frowned upon in various parts of the country. Fearing a potential backlash, Vikrant Massey in an interview shared that the topic puts him in a difficult position and hesitant to discuss it freely.

The 12th Fail-star has dated his now-wife, Sheetal Thakur for at least eight years before tying the knot to her in 2022. The couple were in a live-in relationship before their marriage. Recently, in an interview with the Lallantop, Vikrant Massey was asked his views on live-in relationships and the actor talked about how it worked out for him and his wife.

However, he shared that living together with his wife before the marriage was a positive step for them both as it allowed them to understand each other better before committing He further explained that he believes in live-in relationships but does not propagate it. He added, “I’m speechless and even scared to openly talk about it.”
Vikrant Massey stated that since he and his wife belong to the same profession, living together was helpful as it allowed them to support each other better. He also stressed on the fact that it may not be a suitable option for everyone and advised that one should always keep the family in the loop while choosing a life partner.

Previously, on the Untriggered podcast with YouTuber AminJaz, the actor admitted that his mother suggested the couple to live together before marriage. He credited her progressive upbringing in Mumbai that has made her value companionship in a relationship. He also expressed his gratitude for having a “really progressive parents”. Vikrant Massey explained that living together helped them see each other in different shades and that, according to him, is true companionship which helped solidify their bond.

Reportedly, Vikrant Massey and Sheetal Thakur’s romance blossomed on the sets of Broken But Beautiful on 2018. Humourously, he once referred to their initial spark as “love at third sight”. After eight years of dating, he tied the knot to Sheetal Thakur in 2022 and welcomed their first child, Vardaan in Feburary 2024.
