5 ways to move on from an ex

Send Push
There are no shortcuts to moving on from past relationships. It takes ages to heal from a split as thoughts of cherished moments spent with them haunt you and make you consider a reconciliation, even when the relationship was toxic or no longer serving you. The pangs of separation often make you wonder about their whereabouts and life seems utterly incomplete without the person who once was an important part of life.

Breakups are painful, especially in cases when the other person moves on while you continue to pine for them.

Here are 5 ways to move on from an ex:

1. Stay in touch with your friends
There is no better comfort zone than a good friend, especially someone who's a good listener. If your break-up has made you an emotional wreck, do not hesitate in approaching your friend and crying your heart out. Your friends might not have all the answers, but they know how to support you. They’ll tell you what to do and what not to do, so don’t hesitate to ask for a helping hand. Communicate with them regularly so you don’t feel alone.

2. Get busy
One of the best ways to deal with a separation is to set a productive goal for yourself and stay focused on your targets. Don’t give yourself time to dwell on your ex. Focus on your immediate goal and achieve it. This sense of accomplishment will boost your self esteem and help you in moving on.

3. Give yourself time and spaceAfter a breakup , don’t rush into another relationship just for attention or comfort. Give yourself time and space to heal. Let the emotional wounds heal before considering a new relationship. Use this time to work on accepting yourself and growing as a person.

4. Acceptance

Once you start accepting the situation, moving on will become easier. Get out of your delusion and get in touch with the reality that they are no longer part of your life. Acceptance is hard, but once you face reality, it becomes easier to let go and move on.

5. Don’t stay in touch with your ex

Staying in contact with your ex will only hurt you. If you’re still watching their Instagram stories or texting them, it’s going to make moving on harder. Distance yourself and resist the urge to reach out.
