Sawan started from 11th July. This month is considered to be the month of worship of Lord Shiva. This time is especially auspicious for Shiva devotees. It is believed that worshiping Bholenath in Sawan brings happiness, peace, and prosperity in life. To please God this month, many people also observe fasts along with remedies. Especially the fast of Sawan Monday is kept. But there are some important rules for this. Acharya Anand Bhardwaj of Ujjain said that these people should not keep fast even by mistake.

How many Monday fasts in Sawan?
First Monday of Sawan: On 14th July
Second Monday of Sawan: On 21st July
Third Monday of Sawan: On 28th July
Fourth Monday of Sawan: On 04th August
These three people should not keep fast.
According to the scriptures, while keeping any fast and worship, one should also take care of one's health. If a person is ill or is suffering from physical pain, then he should not keep the fast of Sawan Monday even by mistake.
Women who are menstruating should not observe Sawan Somvar fast. Women should stay away from holy work and worship during menstruation. If someone has taken a pledge to observe 16 Monday fasts, then she can observe Monday fasts, but avoid touching the items of worship.
Pregnant women should also not observe Sawan Somvar fast. Because, during pregnancy, special care of health is required. In such a situation, staying hungry is not right; it can lead to a lack of nutrition.
