Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A newlywed woman was allegedly harassed and assaulted over dowry by her doctor husband. The woman, who sustained a leg fracture during one such assault last month, lodged a complaint with the police, leading to the registration of an FIR against the doctor and his mother on Sunday.
In her complaint, the 35-year-old woman said that she got married to the doctor around four months back. The complainant said that her family met all the demands made by the groom and his family during the wedding. However, shortly after the marriage, the in-laws began demanding Rs 10 lakh in cash.

Around a month ago, he reportedly beat her with a stick, causing a fracture in her leg. The woman’s parents took her to the hospital where she underwent treatment for around a month.
The woman alleged that her husband even issued life threats to her. Police officials said that an FIR has been registered and further investigations were being carried out.
