As the curtains closed on the Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in Mumbai, actress Kalki Koechlin brought effortless summer elegance to the runway. On March 30, she walked the ramp for Max, showcasing their latest collection, Sicilian Summer & Amalfi Escape—a celebration of breezy silhouettes, vibrant hues, and the essence of Mediterranean summer.
Dressed in a dreamy white midi-length dress, Kalki exuded the perfect summer vibe. The sleeveless number featured broad shoulder straps, a flattering square neckline, and a fitted bodice that gracefully flowed into a voluminous skirt. The highlight of her ensembles undoubtedly was the delicate motifs inspired by summer elements, such as strawberries, lemons, and the breathtaking Amalfi coast. To complete her look, she paired it with blue kitten heels, playful statement earrings, and a stack of gold bangles. Her hair, styled in soft waves, finished the glam.
Kalki's candid chat with FPJ
Describing her look in three words, Kalki shared with FPJ, "It’s light, breezy, and summery." Given her fresh and fuss-free approach to fashion, we had to ask—what’s her summer wardrobe essential?
"I like having a really big tote bag that I can throw everything in for the day, big summer sunglasses, and open flat shoes," she revealed, emphasising comfort and practicality in her everyday style.
Talking about her experience on the ramp, Kalki expressed her love for the high-energy environment of fashion shows. "I like the adrenaline that you get right before a show and the fact that for one moment you’re part of this whole gang of people, all coming together for one collection,” she shared.
When asked who she believes is Bollywood’s best dressed, Kalki named "Zeenat Aman," paying tribute to the timeless style of the legendary actress.
With her effortless charm and candid insights, Kalki Koechlin’s presence at Lakme Fashion Week was a true showcase of summer fashion, individuality, and the artistry behind every collection. As the season of sun-kissed days and easy-breezy outfits begins, her style mantra is clear: keep it comfortable, keep it chic, and most importantly, make it your own.
