Lucknow: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert in some regions of Uttar Pradesh. Moderate to heavy rainfall is predicted in the state on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. According to the weather department, this rainfall is a result of a western disturbance. Monsoon has wreaked havoc in Uttar Pradesh in the last few days. On one hand, heavy rains brought relief to people from the heat, but on the other hand, waterlogging on roads, overflowing of rivers, and incidents of houses collapsing disrupted normal life.

According to the weather department, the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively. The skies are expected to be partly cloudy, and it will remain the same throughout the day. The weather department said that light to moderate rainfall is predicted in numerous districts, including the western and eastern divisions of the state, today.

The series of rains will continue for the next two to three days, providing respite from the heatwave. The rainfall is likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Today, the wind is expected to blow from the west at 14 km/h. The city woke up at 05:33 AM, and the sun is expected to set at 6: 51 PM. The humidity is likely to range around 95 per cent.

According to the India Meteorological Department, a warning of heavy rain has been issued in many districts of western UP, including Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur on August 6. At the same time, there is a possibility of light rain in some places in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The IMD has issued an orange alert in the western regions of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the district magistrate, amid worsening weather conditions and continuous rainfall, all government and private schools from classes 1 to 12 in Bareilly. he river has been rising continuously since Saturday, triggering concerns of urban flooding.
