Dhar (Madhya Pradesh): A woman lodged a complaint against a SAF Jawan at Azad Nagar police station, Indore claiming that he maintained a physical relationship with her over a long time under pretext of marriage.
The case was transferred to Dhar since both are residents of the district. Kotwali police took up the issue and launched an investigation in the matter.
According to the victim's statement, she befriended Revaram of Sakalda Chidipura, while studying at PG College in Dhar. In 2019, after renting a room to facilitate her studies, she alleged that Revaram raped her on November 8, 2019 and continued to do so until 2022, while promising to marry her.
In 2022, Revaram secured a position with the SAF police and underwent training in Indore. During this, he invited the victim to Indore, claiming he would help her prepare for competitive exams. After his training, he allegedly continued to sexually exploit her in a rented house.
The situation escalated in March 2023 when Revaram moved to Balaghat and stopped any communication with her. When the victim pressed him for marriage, he refused and also threatened to kill her. The police have received the case diary from Indore and are investigating the matter.
