Nestled in the serene village of Agassaim, just a short drive from Goa’s bustling capital, lies a restaurant that’s quietly redefining coastal dining, and is aptly called Coastal Flames.
This hidden gem is the heart of Brit’s Palace, a homestay and hospitality venture, run by husband-wife duo Brito and Crystal, who recently moved back to Goa from Scotland with their daughter.
“We always wanted Brit’s Palace to offer more than just a place to stay,” they share. “Our aim and inspiration behind starting Coastal Flames was to offer our guests a full, local experience — one rooted in the culture we grew up with and grew to love.”
And, that experience begins the moment you step in. The smell of fresh seafood sizzling over an open flame, the laid-back atmosphere, and the quiet hum of Goan music blend together to create a space that’s inviting and unpretentious.
The interiors are a delicate balance of modern comfort and coastal charm, with handcrafted furniture, marine accents and touches of local art.
“We went for an ambience that would be chic, modern, clean yet deeply rooted in the laid-back spirit of coastal living. We wanted our guests to savour everything — from our fresh seafood, craft cocktails to the live entertainment we have on chosen nights,” said Crystal.

At its core is a deep respect for freshness, sustainability and local tradition. The seafood is sourced daily, often delivered straight to their doorstep by local fishermen.
“We don’t do shortcuts. No frozen stuff, no preservatives. Our ingredients come straight from the ocean to your plate,” they explain. “Fresh doesn’t need masking. Our guests love our meals because they’re hearty, healthy and rich in natural flavour.”
It’s this commitment that led to the creation of their now-famous Flames Fish Thali, a dish that wasn’t even on the original menu. “Truth be told, we never had the Flames Thali on the menu. We added it after seeing the public demand for it. And boy, are we glad we did. The demand is stupendous,” says the couple.
From flame-cooked kingfish to Goan-style prawns, the menu is an evolving canvas. Just like their infused cocktails and mocktails, which highlight seasonal fruits like cashew, mango, jamun and pineapple, everything at Coastal Flames can be made to match the guests' personal taste.

“Even our drinks can be customised. We offer guests the chance to co-create cocktails with our mixologist — it’s a fun, personalised experience,” they say.
Despite having no background in the F&B industry, Brito and his wife have relied on their love for food and community to guide them. They began building the in January 2025 and launched it in April, pouring their heart and soul into every detail.
“We have zero experience in the industry; all we knew is that we love cooking, food and pairing with it. Life doesn’t need to be complicated — and if you can’t be good, don’t be bad either,” they say with a smile.
Since opening, the restaurant has quickly become a favourite for hosting milestone events — anniversaries, farewell parties, corporate events — and has catered to groups from 8 to 120 guests.
“The response has been overwhelming. But, we’re all about adapting and changing based on our customers’ needs. Our space is big, our hearts are bigger — and no one feels rushed here,” they add.

Looking ahead, the couple has exciting plans, including a Seafood Grill experience, where guests can enjoy freshly grilled seafood during the golden hour while sipping cocktails and listening to live Goan acoustic music.
“We have an amazing field view where the sun sets beautifully. Imagine sipping a cocktail while your meal is being grilled to order — that’s the vibe we want to create,” the couple says.
At its heart, Coastal Flames is more than just a restaurant — it’s a dream turned reality, an open invitation to slow down and savour the soulful rhythm of Goan life.
