After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the resentment of retired army officers like retired Major General Gaurav Arya and Major General (Retired) GD Bakshi is now coming out openly. Especially Major General GD Bakshi has expressed deep concern over this incident and has raised questions on the policies of the government. He says that on one hand terrorist attacks are taking place, on the other hand the strength of our army is decreasing. Major General Bakshi clearly says that - "There was no recruitment in the army during the time of Corona, and now 1.80 lakh posts are vacant. We are saving money and what is the result of this? We fight in the mountains, forests, for this we need the army. Who was this wise man who gave this idea that we will stop army recruitment?"
How will the country's borders remain safe?
His question is absolutely justified. He said that if the country's borders are not safe, then what is the use of other schemes? Areas like Pahalgam are very sensitive, there the safety of common citizens and tourists can be ensured only when the number of army is sufficient.
Questions raised on the pace of army recruitment
Bakshi also said that if recruitment is not done on time, then how will the army be strengthened? Terrorist organizations are continuously attacking, and our preparation is decreasing. This strategy is dangerous for the security of the country. He said that the attack in Pahalgam is not just an incident, but it is a warning to the country that terrorist forces are raising their heads again. If we do not wake up even now, then we will have to be ready for more big losses. He asked both the government and the public - "Are we saving money or saving the country? If there are no soldiers in the army, then whom will we make fight?" His question shakes the entire country.
