Today can be a very memorable day for Shubman Gill. He can be made the captain of the Indian Test team for the England tour. The Indian selectors will meet at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on Saturday (May 24) at 1 pm. The new captain will be announced at 1:30 pm. There is every possibility of Shubman Gill being made the new captain of the Test team. Experienced batsman KL Rahul or Rishabh Pant can be made the vice-captain of the Test team. The selectors will also announce the Test team for the England tour today. Karun Nair and Sai Sudarshan may get a chance in the Indian Test team. According to sources, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has ruled himself out of the race for captaincy. Bumrah has told the selectors that he is not interested in becoming the vice-captain. Because he will not be able to play all 5 Test matches in England. This will be India's first Test series after the superstar pair of Rohit Sharma (previous Test captain) and Virat Kohli retired from Tests. After the team selection meeting, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar will announce the new captain and Test squad through a press conference.
