has announced a huge change to its popular Too Good To Go food service ahead of this year. The discount chain has announced that customers can now save their Too Good To Go Surprise bags up to five days in advance this year.
This is a major extension to the 24-hour reservation time previously. The change means shoppers in England and Wales will be able to order the Surprise Bags from Monday, April 14, for collection on Saturday, April 19, ahead of stores closing for Easter Sunday.
says the move will give shoppers more flexibility over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. The Too Good To Go scheme sees shoppers get a bag of shopping worth £10 for only £3.30, with the bags containing a range of grocery products that are approaching their sell-by or use-by dates.
The food included in the Surprise Bags usually consists of fruits, vegetables, dairy products, meats, and snacks. To use the service, you will need to download the Too Good To Go app and search for your nearby Aldi store.

Too Good to Go aims to prevent food waste, and other major , including the and , are also part of the scheme. Aldi joined it back in 2023.
Luke Emery, National Sustainability Director at Aldi UK, said: “We know the Too Good To Go Surprise Bags are very popular with shoppers, and with stores set to close on Easter Sunday, we’re offering even more flexibility to reserve a bargain in advance.
“We’re proud of our long-standing partnership with Too Good To Go as part of our commitment to encourage everyone to prevent food waste together. It also means our customers can save even more money when shopping at Aldi and prevent unsold food from going to waste.”
It comes as the retailer recently launched a competition giving shoppers the chance to win a year’s supply of Too Good To Go Surprise Bags. The competition was launched to mark Food Waste Action Week, with the supermarket chain teaming up with food waste disruptor Lagomchef.
The winner of the competition could receive £260 worth of Too Good To Go vouchers, which can be redeemed for one year's supply of Suprise Bags. So a total of one £5 voucher each week, equating to 52 Surprise Bags across the year. The competition opened on Thursday March 13, and is running until April 11 - meaning there is still a few days left to enter.
To enter, shoppers simply need to email their top food waste tip to TooGoodToGoCompetition@aldi.co.uk. Once the deadline passes, the winner will be selected at random, and the winner will be contacted via email.
