Liverpool boss Arne Slot wants Premier League change to help stop injury issues

Liverpool boss Arne Slot feels the Premier League have to do more to help English clubs in Europe.

Slot believes the hamstring injury that has could have been caused by a lack of rest between games after he was forced off during the win at . The Brazilian isn't expected back until after the international break and Slot reckons top flight bosses need to have a rethink.

Several top flight bosses have previously bemoaned the short preparation times afforded to those who've played in Europe. Slot's predecessor was often vocal about the time slots afforded to his team.

The German said in May that Liverpool being asked to play "Thursday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday 12.30 is a crime". Klopp also suggested the Premier League's scheduling was partly to blame for English clubs' struggles in Europe last season.

He said: "In general I think it's a really interesting subject. Aston Villa lost 4-2 last night for example - [it] would mean if they go out no English team will be in any kind of European final. I watch a lot of football. The Premier League is the best league in the so it's not overrated, the players are over-worked."

Throughout October, despite there being a fortnight pause for the international break, Liverpool will play six games. Slot's outfit will have to negotiate four outings over the next ten days across three different competitions.

After the midweek Champions League clash in Germany Liverpool will play in the Sunday 4.30pm slot. Alisson will be absent for the game with the Gunners and is also poised to miss contests against and Aston Villa as the Reds look to remain top of the pile.
