Manchester City are in line for a cut of transfer profit this summer as Tommy Doyle edges closer to the exit door at . Earlier this week, Wolves boss Vitor Pereira revealed that he's due to hold crunch talks with Doyle over his future at the end of the season amid a lack of playing time.
The 23-year-old midfielder moved to Molineux in a £4.3million deal last July following a successful loan spell under Gary O'Neil. City have a 50 per cent sell-on clause and can also buy the player back, though that is unlikely to happen.
Sheffield United are understood to be among a list of clubs that are keen on Doyle but any deal may yet hinge on promotion as the Blades gear up for the Championship play-offs.
The former England youth starlet, who won the U21 European Championships under Lee Carsley in 2023, was a major hit on loan at Bramall Lane during the 2022-23 campaign when Sheffield United won promotion and also reached the semi-finals.

Doyle has made just one start in the since the arrival of Pereira, who has indicated he does not feel the player suits his system.
Pereira said: “Usually, at the end of a season, I have a conversation with the players to understand If I have a conversation with a player and they say they are not happy because they want to play, and I can’t guarantee they will play a lot of games next season, then this is a decision.
“It’s not a decision just from my part or the club’s part, it’s a conversation between the coach, the club and the player to decide.
"I believe we cannot be in a place if we are not happy, because we cannot be ourselves. You need to have players here with their mind and heart here, happy, because they feel this happiness inside.”
Meanwhile, Wolves are frantically trying to tie club captain Nelson Semedo down to a new contract.
His current deal expires at the end of June and his former side Benfica are believed to be in the mix for his signature. Semedo has spent five years at Molineux and is highly valued by boss Pereira.
Matheus Cunha is, however, edging closer to the exit door as look ready to trigger his £62.5million release clause which becomes active this summer.
Cunha's representatives have already held positive discussions with United and talks are expected to continue in the coming weeks.
had also been eyeing the Brazilian but the Red Devils are now leading the charge for the 25-year-old attacker.
