Marcus Rashford will not play for Aston Villa again this season after being ruled out of Friday’s match against . Rashford’s hamstring injury will keep him out of Villa’s last home game and, with their final match coming against his parent club on Sunday May 25, it means his campaign is over.
The 27-year-old’s future remains in doubt, with Villa having a £40million option to turn his loan move into a permanent deal. He is thought to favour a move to a club next term and that is a target Villa have yet to secure.
Youri Tielemans has also been ruled out of Friday’s visit of finalists Tottenham. “Youri and Marcus are not available and Jacob Ramsey is suspended,” Emery said.
“We have to do each step forward, testing and analysing how they are recovering. I don’t know if they will be available physically (next week), because Marcus can’t play next week.
“But they are working every day and they are feeling better.” The game was moved to Friday night to accommodate Spurs’ request for more time to prepare for Wednesday’s Europa League final against Manchester United, a decision Villa were not happy with.
