fans who have forked out hundreds on tickets to have been dealt a worrying blow.
Concertgoers who have purchased tickets to their show at Manchester's Heaton Park have been notified that they need to enter a ballot to get close to the stage at the venue. urging them to take part in a draw that will determine if they are allowed into the "front standing" area or just "general admission."
It warned that those who don't take part in the ballot or are not selected to be in the front section will only be allowed to enter the rear section after the decision was made to divide the venue into two areas. The email - - says the decision has been made in part to try and "ensure fan safety."

The Ticketmaster email reads: "Hello, Important information about your event...The Event Organisers have asked us to pass on the following information:

"The Safety Advisory Group for the Heaton Park shows have divided the concert arena into two areas: a general admission area and a front standing area each with a dedicated ticket and entry gate issued in advance. This is to ensure fan safety and improve the fan experience whilst entering the site.
"All general admission ticketholders are being given the opportunity to opt in to gain access to the front standing area. If the number of opt-in requests exceeds availability, tickets will be allocated at random from the pool of applicants.
"Please click on the link HERE to opt in if you wish to request tickets in the front standing area. The opt in link is valid and open now until noon on 30th May. Once the opt-in window closes, you'll receive a follow-up notification no later than 20th June confirming your allocated area and gate entry information.
"Please note that opting in applies to your whole order (you can’t split up tickets). If you’re happy to stay in the general admission area, you don’t need to do anything."

However, some fans have taken to social media to slam the plans - many are questioning what happens if they have bought tickets separately to their friends and win the ballot will they still be able to access the general area in case their friends don't get a place, with others claiming they haven't received the ballot invitation at all. One wrote on X: "Now it transpires that for the Heaton Park gigs - the front pit is gonna be balloted, only not everyone has received the email to enter said ballot. Are they actively trying to ruin it?"
A second said: "Rather the chaos of Finsbury Park where my feet didn't touch the ground for half an hour in the crush than this Oasis front pit access ballot for Heaton Park, absolute nonsense." Meanwhile, some fans who have forked out prices starting at almost £300 for standing VIP tickets have also received the ballot email leaving them questioning their own ticket status.
One asked: "Hi, please can you confirm whether or not the Hospitality ticket (VIP GA) for Oasis at Heaton Park (originally priced £268) is automatically allocated a place in the front section. Many thanks."
A second said: "Regarding the recent heaton park oasis email, what if I already paid for VIP general admission will that be affected if I apply to the front section or can the vip bar/bathrooms still be accessed from both sections?"
A third wrote: "Genuine question about Oasis tickets. Does anyone know whether the new email regarding Heaton Park will also be the situation for Wembley? What does VIP do. Do we get chucked in general admission?"
