Woman confronts cabin crew for not giving her water 'three minutes before landing'

A woman has sparked fierce debate online after she was escorted off an Air France flight by police for confronting cabin crew over a simple request - a glass of water just minutes before landing in Paris.

The passenger, who goes by the name @celrants on TikTok, documented the ordeal in a series of videos that have quickly gone viral. She claims she asked for water shortly before the plane’s descent, but was refused due to the close proximity to landing, leading to a confrontation that escalated into a full-blown argument.

In one video, a member of cabin crew is heard explaining: "It's not the time to ask for a glass of water. It's the same for any flight. It's too late."

According to aviation safety procedures, flight attendants are typically required to remain seated with their seatbelts fastened during the final approach - usually beginning 10 to 20 minutes before landing - for their own safety.

However, Cel said her request came just three minutes before landing, and she felt it should have been possible to accommodate.

In the video, she is heard telling the crew: "I understand that you cannot move. I've been flying since I was a baby. The least you could have told me is, 'mam, you can't get water now, when you land, I will give it to you'. That's it."

She adds: "It's the way you spoke to me that I did not like. You came up to me, and said 'it's three minutes before landing, I cannot do it.' To which I said, 'please, I'm really thirsty'. If you had told me that when you land, I will give you water, I promise I would not have done anything.

"I have no reason. But for me, I need to record everything so I am treated fairly. It's very simple. I have flown multiple times, I have had no issues."

A member of crew is then heard questioning why she took a picture of him, to which she said: "In all honesty, I didn't intend to. I am thirsty. All I wanted was a drink of water."

After the exchange, she was met onboard the plane after landing by French police officers and escorted off the aircraft.

"I've got three police officers to escort me, one of which has a massive gun," she claims in the video.

One police officer is then heard asking Cel for her passport, to which she responds: "What is this for?"

The officer simply responds, "because I am a police officer." And while Cel called it an "abuse of power", people online were quick to disagree after watching the clips.

One person wrote: "They were literally doing their jobs." Another said: "You wanted a confrontation. You are arguing for the sake of arguing."

A third wrote: "Why did she ask for water three minutes before landing?"

Others sided with Cel, saying: "I applaud you for how calm you were throughout this."
