Lucy Spraggan was left in tears after announcing she has been forced to cancel a string of gigs. The former X Factor star, 33, emotionally told her fans it was the "last thing" she wanted to do as she admitted she wasn't in any fit state to put on a show.
Lucy took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking message. She said: "Hello everybody. This is absolutely the last message I wanted to be putting out.
"I woke up yesterday not feeling well, and today woke up feeling even worse and we’ve had to make the decision to reschedule the outstore shows this week because my throat feels like it's got razor blades in it and my nose is completely blocked."
She went on: "Not just that, it doesn't feel responsible to be meeting with you guys and to be signing things and hugging you because I don't want you to feel this way either."
Lucy shared her gratitude with those who had been looking forward to her new album and vowed to reschedule any shows missed, breaking down as she said she hates letting people down.
As she was in tears in the sad message while wearing a black top and matching baseball cap, she concluded: "I’m really sorry to anyone that was coming to London, Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow. I really, really hope I’ll get to see you in August. So my sincere apologies and sending loads of love."
After posting the video online she was met with an influx of support. Among those comment were band The Lottery Winners who simply wrote: "Love you mate," along with a red love heart emoji.
Another user penned: "Sending lots of love Lucy. Look after yourself. Health before anything. Do not feel bad in the slightest. Don’t use your energy worrying about that. X"
And a third added: "You have to do what is right for you! Get well soon and we will see you when you are well xx"
Lizzie Cundy was also among those sharing messages of support, while thousands also clicked the like button.
Earlier in the year, Lucygave an insight into her relationship with Simon Cowell. In recent years, she has found herself growing closer to the media mogul.
Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, the singer-songwriter said in March: "It's as nice to have a close bond with anyone. He's just a really remarkable guy, really individual person.
"I speak about this a lot, there's a lot of people that have a lot of things to say about him, there's a bit of a mass perception that a lot of people can have and I can only go off the person that I've interacted with and I'll judge someone on their merit and how they've been with me.
"I've had nothing but great times with Simon and had a lot of really important conversations, I think he's a great guy."
