Double Murder Shocks Nalanda: Teenagers Annu and Himanshu Shot in the Head During Firing Spree

A horrific case of double murder has emerged from Nalanda, Bihar, where two teenagers—a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy—were shot dead in broad daylight. The incident occurred in Paswan Tola of Dumrawan village, under Deepnagar police station limits, late Sunday evening.

According to police reports, the attackers opened fire indiscriminately and shot both victims in the head. The deceased have been identified as Annu Kumari, daughter of Om Prakash Paswan, and Himanshu Kumar, son of Santosh Paswan.

Relatives say that Annu was having dinner outside her home when she was shot. Himanshu, who was nearby, was also shot in the head. Both were rushed to the Model Hospital, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Tension Erupts at Hospital

Following the deaths, family members created an uproar at the hospital, blaming medical negligence and lack of police vigilance. When they tried to take the bodies back to the village without a postmortem, police intervened, triggering further anger among the crowd.

Road Blockade and Demand for Justice

The enraged families and villagers took the bodies to Subhash Park and blocked the Hospital Chowk–Badi-Pahadi road, demanding immediate arrests. According to relatives, a minor argument between two groups of children during a village Akhand Kirtan escalated into violence. Armed assailants allegedly from the other faction stormed into the colony and began firing at will.

Police Take 7 Into Custody

Nalanda Sadar DSP Noorul Haq confirmed the deaths and said that seven people, including suspects Naulesh and Adesh, have been detained in connection with the crime. Deepnagar SHO Jitendra Ram stated that the investigation is underway and police teams are stationed in the village.

The brutal murder of two innocent teenagers has left the district in shock, sparking outrage and renewed concerns over law and order in rural Bihar.
