The first psychological horror movie was made in the Malayalam language in the year 1993. Its name was Mani Chitrathazhu. This movie was liked a lot. Which was then remade in different languages. In the year 2004, it was made in Kannada language with the name Apathamitra. In the year 2005, its Tamil remake was made. Which was named Chandramukhi. In the year 2005, the movie was made in Bengali. Which was named Rajmohol and in the year 2007, this movie was made in Bollywood whose name was Bhool Bhulaiya.
