Adding just 2 ingredients to an orange creates 'ultimate summer dessert'

There's nothing like eating a delicious fruity dessert in the sunshine, but you don't want to waste your time making something elaborate when you could be outside mingling with your friends.

That's why Laura, who posts on Instagram as @cakeontherun, shared the "ultimate summer dessert" which is the perfect recipe if you need something tasty and easy to make.

She said: "I bet you didn't know that if you cut an orange and add two other ingredients to it, you can make the most amazing orange posset inside an orange."

Laura shared the recipe will serve four people, but obviously, you can make more if needed.

To make it, you should use 250ml of double cream or vegan cream, 90g of caster sugar, the juice and zest of one orange, and two oranges for serving it.

It's so easy to make, and is so tasty as well. We're not quite sure you can count it as one of your five-a-day, however.

First, you should simmer your cream in a saucepan, along with the zest of the orange, and sugar on a low heat. You should be stirring the mixture until the sugar has dissolved, and the liquid is thickening.

You need to then juice the orange, take the saucepan off the heat, and then stir in the juice from the orange.

Pour the mixture through a sieve to ensure that you've not got any "zesty bits".

Then, you need to use a jug to pour the mixture into the "empty orange halves". You will get one half of an orange per person.

You need to be sure you make these in advance, however, as once all those steps are done, you need to pop them in the refrigerator to cool overnight.

Then, they'll be ready for you and your friends or family to enjoy - and she promises that you will.
