returned to screens on Wednesday with and Ben Thompson on the iconic red sofa to discuss the latest headlines.
During the episode, the presenters revealed UK inflation has had a surprise drops for the first time in three years.
The figures unexpectedly fell by 1.7 percent in the year to September, which is now below the Bank of England's 2 percent target.
September's figure is normally used to set how much many benefits rise, such as Universal Credit, next April.
As this news was explained, viewers noticed a major spelling error as the onscreen graphic read: "Universal Credit unkown," and highlighted the mistake on social media.
Taking to X, @digbydude complained: "Spelling mistake on #bbcbreakfast."
@TheSarahManton added: "Bit of care would be nice before information goes up on the big screen and is broadcast to the nation! @BBCBreakfast."
@Mreurovision sarcastically praised: "Great spelling today."
The error was seemingly missed by the presenters who didn't address the mistake as Ben Boulos continued to explain what effect the inflation drop will have.
He shared: "A lower inflation rate does mean pressures on household and businesses are easing but it also means potentially, a smaller rise in benefits for many people from next April.
Earlier in the episode, BBC Breakfast sparked concern for Jon Kay after his unexplained absence for his usual weekday slot.
The presenter whose usually seated besides Sally was replaced by Ben in a huge shake-up to the show's usual line-up.
This comes after several changes in the past week, which also saw Sarah Campbell step in for Sally on multiple occasions.
