Fans who tuned into the results show of Strictly Come Dancing have issued the same complaint, calling the new show format "disturbing" and saying that it "does not work." Following last night's spooktacular Halloween Night, the remaining couples put on an impressive show of routines and performances. One notable highlight was Lewis Cope and Katya Jones getting the first perfect score of the series after their incredible Couples Choice routine to Creep by Radiohead.
When it came to Sunday's results, fans were still unhappy with the updated show format, which usually starts with a group number performance by the pro dancers. However, this year the series changed things up and immediately did a recap of last night's performances.
One person moaned on X: "Five results shows in and this new format is just as disturbing each week, please just start with the pro group dances again?! #Strictly."
A second also commented: "the way this new format does not work when you get to this point of the competition. we're already at the bottom four! #strictly." A third said: "Yeah I don't like this new reveal format - but I don't hate it either."
Later on, it was revealed who was in the bottom two. It was revealed that Ellie Goldstein and Vito Coppola were in the dreaded dance off against Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.
After both couples had danced a second time to secure a place in next week's competition, the judging panel delivered their verdicts. It was the end of the road for Ellie and Vito as three of the judges chose to save Balvinder and Julian.
Head Judge Shirley Ballas, who this week was the judge with the casting vote, said that she would have also chosen to save Balvinder and Julian should she have been required to make a choice.
After their exit was confirmed, Vito said to Ellie: "Honestly, there are no words I can use to describe how proud I am of you, and you did really change my life so much. You made me such a better person. At the beginning of this year, I said to myself please, please, please can you send me a beautiful angel into my life? And now you arrived. I've never had a little sister but I always wanted one. Now, I have you and you're my little sister forever, and your big brother is always by your side."
Strictly Come Dancing resumes next Saturday on BBC One and iPlayer.
