had been expected to return to once more to perform in the final of this year's competition. However, it seems that the DIY SOS star has had to withdraw from the BBC show completely as he continues to recover from surgery.

The TV star, 62, was eliminated from the dance competition in the third week, with his professional partner Luba Mushtuk, following the dance-off against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu. Prior to that, the dance couple were forced to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing's Movie Week after he injured his shoulder and knee during rehearsals.

Since then he has had to , following a second injury which he incurred while changing a tyre on his car.

While Nick has been providing health updates on his social media accounts, one fan asked him: "Will you still be able to do the end of series dance in the final. Wouldn't seem right you not being there."

To which Nick said it's unlikely he'll be taking part, as he wrote: "I'm not sure my injuries will allow - I have to wait for the knee operation until the bicep operation has healed so I can use crutches afterwards. So I don't think recovery will be in time sadly."

In another update the DIY expert shared that he still had another surgery to go. Speaking from his hospital bed, Nick said: "Just woken up from my op. All went well by all accounts, so I have a reattached bicep now.

"A bit of physio over the next two or three months and all should be right as rain, back to 100% I think. That's one down and one to go on the knee."

After his early exit from the show, Nick paid tribute to his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk, who supported him throughout his challenging time on Strictly.

He shared: "I really fell in love with dancing. Luba worked so hard on all the routines, and I felt like I let her down. I desperately wanted to do more."
