's Mastermind faced criticism from viewers during its latest episode, with many calling it "unfair."

Four new brainiacs joined host Clive Myrie to answer a series of questions in their chosen specialist subject, with a two-minute time period on each round.

But as the players took turns sitting in the hot seat, fans began noticing that some players' questions were much longer than others, meaning they didn't stand a chance of landing the highest score.

Fans dubbed it unfair, blasting: "Just how long were those questions!! Very unfair."

A second added: "His questions are way longer than the other contestants that seems a bit unfair?" while a third replied: "They go on and on and on; just how long will these questions last for? Very unfair!"

Player Olivia stormed into the lead before Alan took to the chair with his subject revolving around cricket. That's when fans saw the stark difference between the pair as the complaints began to flood in during the episode.

But others hit back at the comments, with one fans saying: "Everybody's questions are the same length."

Others even pointed out that some of the questions were "too easy"

"I have to say the general knowledge questions on #MasterMind are way too easy. Im not looking for University Challenge levels but it's been dumbed down a lot," blasted one, wit a second echoing: "Haven't watched Mastermind in years but just caught the last couple of minutes of tonight's show. Has it been dumbed down? The questions the last contestant got wouldn't have been out of place on Junior Mastermind."

Mastermind fans know that one of the BBC Two quiz show's more frustrating rules is that contestants are not allowed to answer questions before they are finished being asked.

It's not the first time fans have had this same complaint. Recently, quizzer Tom Moody was hoping to make up some ground in the general knowledge round when he was unlucky enough to be given the question and tried to answer half way through.

Despite giving the correct answer, the host continued to read the full questions.

Eventually, Moody was able to answer "Knight" correctly, but viewers were in agreement that the long question was too much.

One viewer commented on X: "Even by recent #Mastermind standards, that chess Knight question seemed particularly long winded ..."

Someone else asked: "How long did that Chess question last for," as another person agreed: "The chess question was taking the p***!"

One viewer noted: "Unnecessarily long and over detailed question about the movement and ability of a chess piece."
