
Hollywood actress Suet Nay has died at the age of 77 after a lengthy battle with pancreactic cancer just days after her famous husband died by suicide. The veteran actress died just one week after her husband Tang Chia, a former action choreographer, passed away after reportedly falling from a building in Hong King. CNA Lifestyle reported that: "No suicide note was found, but it was believed that he was deeply affected by Suet Nay's deteriorating health and had reportedly told family members his despair and desire to 'leave with her'."
The filmstar made her debut on the big screen back in 1962 in the Taiwanese film Good Neighbours. The South China Morning Post reported that the star remained active in the 1970s before she emigrated to Canada in the late 1980s before she left the entertainment scene.
It is understood that she later returned to Hong Kong in 1997 and joined TVB, acting in several popular TV series such as Secret of the Heart and Rosy Business. She later retired from acting in 2020.
According to reports, Suet Nay's family have shared that a joint wake for the star and her late husband Tang will take place on July 14 with the funeral and cremation is scheduled the following day on July 15.
Suet and Tang started dating after meeting on the set of the 1966 series The Legend of Wander Lady. The couple tied the knot in a romantic ceremony back in 1969 and went on to welcomed their two sons years later.
Tang began his entertainment career back in teh 1960s and became a regular martial arts instructor for late filmmaker Chang Cheh. He's known for directign a number of classic martial arts films - including Shaolin Prince (1982), Shaolin Intruders (1983) and Opium and the Kung-Fu Master (1984).
Tributes have been flooding in for the late actress online, with one fan sharing their sympathies to her family. They penned: "Used to watch her series in TVB growing up, so sad" as another agreed: "My deepest condolences. May their souls rest in peace."
As well as battling pancreatic cancer, Suet Nay had reportedly been diagnosed with gereditary hearing loss in recent years and suffered complete deafness in one year. She was best know for her role as a swordswoman in The Legend of Wonder Lady.
