US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz could be set for showdown talks with his parents after the 22-year-old revealed he is aiming to get tattooed, not once, but twice to commemorate his sixth Grand Slam title. The Spanish superstar has made a habit of getting inked everytime he wins a major, an event that is becoming more commonplace as his career advances. Alcaraz fought off rival Jannik Sinner,6-2 3-6 6-1 6-4, to win his second title at Flushing Meadows, with the first coming in 2022.

He also regained his status as world No.1 from the Italian as he claimed a staggering £3.7million in prize money. Alcaraz claimed he was in line to get tattoos of iconic New York landmarks, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, to mark his second triumph in the Big Apple. After getting a tattoo of a small strawberry to celebrate his Wimbledon success in 2023 he then took his ink haul to new heights by getting another after winning the French Open in 2024. However, he disclosed he told his parents he would only get one tattoo per grand slam victory, but having conceded he's planning on getting inked twice, he'll now be sitting them down to tell them about his new plans.

After once claiming that he would have to ask his dad for permission when it came to getting a tattoo, he was quizzed about his love for going under the tattoo needle by the Tennis Channel after winning Roland Garros in 2024.

He revealed, he ever so slightly, misdirected his parents on his tattoo ambitions. "I told my parents just to calm them that it was just the first one in every major. But this is a really big moment," he said.

"Probably I'm going to put the date of this one next to last year's. I have to discuss with them. The Eiffel Tower one, I didn't do it yet but I will for sure.

"This one, I have to talk with them. A little one I can hide." In an interview after winning this year's US Open, Alcaraz shared some of his future plans. "I'm gonna do two things," he said.

"I had a bet at the beginning of the tournament: the Brooklyn Bridge, and obviously the Statue of Liberty. I'm gonna do both. And the date. Because this one is special. I have to get a tattoo twice."

After his success in New York two years ago, Alcaraz tattooed the date of his final victory just above his left elbow. His growing tattoo collection also includes the letters CCC on his forearm, which stand for 'cabeza, corazon y cojones', words that translate as 'head, heart and balls' - as a tribute to his grandfather.

He followed that up by getting the strawberry on his right ankle, with the small fruit synonymous with the All England Club and has the Eiffel Tower also on his ankle. Last year, he revealed that if he were to win the Olympics in Paris, he already had a design in mind for more.

"Without a doubt, the rings with the date Paris 24, one hundred per cent," he said to Marca. However, Novak Djokovic won gold in Paris meaning Alcaraz had to put his plans on hold. Yet with the Spaniard having won three Grand Slams alone this year, the thought of Alcaraz perhaps clinching gold at the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, and adding to his tattoo collection, is not much of a stretch.
