He may be 94, but is still working hard. The Hollywood legend's latest directorial effort, Juror No 2, is set to hit cinemas in a couple of weeks.
The only trouble is will barely be seen by anyone Stateside, according to a new report.
EmpireCity Box Office writes: "I've given Warner Bros Pictures the benefit of the doubt, but what a dumpster fire.
"They are releasing Clint Eastwood's likely final film Juror No 2 in less than 50 theaters with no marketing support on 11/1 and no expansion plans.
"It had one of the best-received trailers this fall. Shame."
They added: "I hope Clint keeps making more for the next few years, I want to see them all wide in theaters. He's been an absolute icon for so long he deserves it."
Meanwhile, pointed out: "Last month, Warner Bros had practically given away the trailer to PEOPLE Magazine in an "exclusive." It couldn't be found anywhere else online. It took hours before it finally showed up on YouTube.
"Is Warners' confidence that low on this film? Juror No 2 had one of the best-received trailers this fall. Dumping its trailer a month before release was already a red flag. I've spoken to a person who saw the film on the WB lot and they thought it was very strong."
Despite being a stalwart at Warner Bros, there were issues with Eastwood's last movie Cry Macho, which he also starred in. Two years ago, new Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav complained about the icon's box office flop Cry Macho in a leaked conference call.
When studio executives told the boss they doubted the Western would make a profit, he asked: "They why did you make it if you had reservations?"
When they said Eastwood had made Warner Bros hits over the years and never delivered a movie late or over the budget, Zaslav replied: "We don't owe anyone any favours." No wonder Christopher Nolan went to Universal.
Juror No 2 is released in UK cinemas on November 1, 2024.
