Coronation Street fans 'rumble' what Debbie is hiding about Bethany surgery in dark twist

Coronation Street viewers are speculating that Debbie Webster is concealing a significant secret, as Bethany Platt battles for her life overseas.

Earlier this month, Debbie, played by Sue Devaney, informed Bethany that a friend of hers heads a cosmetic surgery firm. Eager for publicity, the friend was reportedly seeking someone to write about their new facility in Turkey.

Initially, Bethany declined the offer but was persuaded by boyfriend Daniel Osbourne, portrayed by Rob Mallard, to reconsider and she subsequently travelled abroad.

However, last week's episodes saw a shocking twist when Bethany opted for liposuction surgery which went awry, leaving her critically ill in intensive care.

Daniel and mother Sarah, played by Tina O'Brien, hastily departed Weatherfield to be with Bethany in Turkey, leaving their neighbours stunned by the news.

At the Rovers, a worried David, played by Jack P. Shepherd, and friends debated their next steps, with one suggesting the Platts should take legal action against the clinic - an idea quickly dismissed by a flustered Debbie.

This reaction has led many Coronation Street fans to suspect Debbie may have some involvement with the clinic, with some even suggesting she might have a financial interest in it, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Debate is rife within the Corrie fanbase on social media, with one eagle-eyed viewer speculating on a Facebook fan page: "Does anybody else think that Debbie has some sort of stake in the new clinic abroad? She was very sheepish in the pub when they was talking about suing."

Quick to chime in, another aficionado agreed: "Think so." A third concurred, adding their observation: "She has something to do with the clinic because she seemed shifty in the pub talking about it."

Fueling further speculation, yet another added: "Is there more to Debbie's job than meets the eye? Or was Bethany just being careless?"
