I'm A Celeb line-up: Scottish football legend rumoured to appear on new season

Scottish football legend Ally McCoist is reportedly set to make an appearance on this year, having turned down the chance of appearing in 2019 and 2022.

According to the , ITV bosses are claiming to be 'very hopeful' that they will get the Rangers legend to sign up for the ITV programme.

The former footballer was then quizzed in the talkSport studio by his colleagues, leading to an eight-word reply from Ally. He responded with: "No, I don't know, I don't think so."

One of his colleagues Gabby Agbonlahor refused to give up on the question, leading Ally to quipp: "To be fair Gab, I could do with losing a stone-and-a-half, couldn't I?"

The Scotsman have previously revealed that he is a huge fan of the ITV show, insisting that his wife would love to be in a five-star hotel in Australia during his stint in the jungle.

His other colleague Alan Brazil also chimed in: "A million bucks.

"If you were offered a millions bucks, wee Viv [Ally's wife] says you're going."

Not wanting to continue the conversation, Ally replied: "You know the drill lads, I'll do what I'm told."

Ally McCoist is now 's new favourite to appear on the new season of I'm A Celebrity after it emerged he is in advanced talks with producers.

The Scottish star is now just 1/5 to finally appear on the show, according to bookies.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: "ITV producers have been trying to tempt Ally McCoist into the jungle for some time, failing twice in 2019 and 2022, but it appears that they could finally be close to getting their man.

"McCoist is our firm favourite to appear on the upcoming season of I'm A Celeb at 1/5, clear of Alan Halsall at 1/3, with Phil Taylor and Tommy Fury also odds-on chances to enter the jungle.

"The usual mix of celebs can be expected, with dancer Giovanni Pernice and former Tory Prime Ministers available at bigger prices."
