Heal's, one of London's oldest and most-loved furniture stores, has launched a new homeware range that makes it easy to refresh a space for under £100. The collection combines craftsmanship with a clean, modern look the brand has been known for since it first opened its doors more than 200 years ago.
Founded in 1810 by John Harris Heal, the shop began by selling feather-filled mattresses at a time when most people still slept on straw. It later became famous for stylish, well-made furniture that stood the test of time, and it even appeared in the back cover of Charles Dickens' Bleak House in 1837, one of the first ever retail adverts of its kind, according to Antique Collecting Magazine.
There are more than 299 products available for homes, but some stand out in particular - for example, the Scented Candle To The Sea by Lo Studio for £49. According to the site, each Lo Studio candle combines artistry and purpose and is designed to bring a refined sense of calm and sophistication to rooms.
The Scented Candle To The Sea product captures the essence of the Cornish coastline, with notes of fresh rock salt and samphire combined with citrus bergamot and warm ambrette musk mallow. The result is a clean, coastal fragrance and each 220g candle offers up to 60 hours of burn time.
Next is the Barton Croft Mug for £28, which could be an addition for Christmas or a gift to others in the cosy weather. This mug, that was handcrafted in Portugal, brings a touch of warmth and serenity to every day life, as it features a textured finish and a smooth, organic shape that is said to sit comfortably in hands.
The Helsinki Task Lamp is also available for £84, down from £99, offering buyers 15% off their purchase. This lamp channels classic mid-century style with its clean lines and subtle detailing.
Its metal shade, available in black or chrome, features a fine pinprick pattern that casts a gentle light for a warm modern feel. With an adjustable head for targeted illumination, it's a practical yet elegant choice for desks, bedside lights or small reading nooks.
If it's bedding or sofa accessories shoppers are after, there is also the Heal's 59 Cushion Olive & Cream 45 x 45cm, available for £75, which is made from 100% cotton velvet, with a pattern inspired by a 1959 Heal's poster and featuring the brand's iconic H. Handmade in India and filled with soft feathers, it adds texture and a subtle nod to Heal's history.
Other well-loved brands for furniture include Dunelm, which has its Beatrice Striped Floor Lampfor £65 on its website that is classified as a 'special buy'. This lamp has a slim shape, making it perfect for a range of spaces, is durable and made of high quality polyester and is available in multiple colourways.
Amazon also has a limited-time deal on and is offering the Aspire Homeware Grey Cushions with Covers for £20.18, down from £24.99. In this deal, there are a set of eight cushions with covers (45 x 45 cm) and they are made from soft plush velvet and feature an invisble zipper.
Although there are no individual reviews for the products, happy shoppers have taken to Trustpilot to share their opinions on the brand. One person said: "Absolutely brilliant customer service (thank you, Eugene) and the best delivery team ever. Very happy with my new table and bench and wish I could only ever shop with Heal's."
Another said: "Fabulous dining table and flawless service." Some others had slight issues with the pricing, for example, as this person said: "Good service and item arrived as described. Expensive but reliable quality."
Another said: "Excellent sofa but the service could be improved." Overall most people were impressed, however, like this person who said: "Outstanding customer service. Beautiful furniture and furnishings, delivery and excellent communication."
