West Ham boss Graham Potter discovers how many games he has to save his job

West Ham manager Graham Potter is staring down the barrel of a make-or-break week that could determine his future at the London Stadium. The embattled Hammers, who have conceded eight goals in their opening two Premier League fixtures following crushing defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea, face Wolves in Carabao Cup action on Tuesday evening.

They subsequently visit Nottingham Forest ahead of the international break, and should they suffer defeats in both encounters, the hierarchy will have considerable deliberation during that fortnight before domestic football resumes, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Earlier this week, Potter insisted there was "no silver bullet" and suggested the club lacked manoeuvrability in the transfer market owing to PSR constraints.

They have submitted an offer for Monaco's France U21 midfielder Soungoutou Magassa, though Nottingham Forest are also in contention and are eager to scupper the arrangement.

Potter has managed 0.95 points-per-game (from 21 matches) since succeeding Julen Lopetegui, representing the poorest record of any manager in West Ham's distinguished history.
