First PS Plus Extra game for April is a classic - Blue Prince release date and launch time

The April Extra line-up contains a couple of brand new day-one releases, including an interesting new adventure called Blue Prince.

Blue Prince is a first-person narrative adventure game that's proven to be a real hit with critics, earning an impressive . As you can see from the image below, the game has an April 10 release date and a 4pm BST UK launch time on PlayStation. Better yet, PS Plus Extra subscribers can download and play it as part of their membership package.

If you're not a PS Plus Extra subscriber, then it's worth noting that Blue Prince is available to purchase separately, and is also coming to Xbox and Steam.

The aim of Blue Prince is to create a path through a mysterious manor house by selecting a new room every time you reach a closed door.

Some rooms provide you with items, coins and upgrades, while others reveal new secrets about the house and its inhabitants.

Not only are players limited by the number of steps they can take, but the house resets and the layout changes at the end of each day. You can improve your chances of success by earning permanent upgrades, which will stay with your character between runs. Other items are lost with each reset.

Sony explains more: "Upon reaching a closed door in Mt. Holly, you decide what room appears behind it and each decision shapes your path as you navigate through the manor. Every door can reveal new and exciting chambers that contain their own unique challenges and secrets.

"But be careful how you draft, for each day the manor's floor plan resets and the rooms you saw today may not be the same rooms you see tomorrow."

Not only does Blue Prince feature a unique gameplay loop, but it also contains a surprisingly captivating storyline. The more you explore, the more you'll piece together the history of the manor and overall narrative.

In addition to Blue Prince, the April 2025 PS Plus Extra line-up includes Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 2, which is another brand new release.

That's on top of Harry Potter video game spinoff Hogwarts Legacy, which has been predicted for the past few months.

Electronic Arts features heavily in the April line-up, adding new games like EA Sports PGA Tour and Battlefield 1.

The April Premium line-up includes classic horror game Alone in the Dark 2, as well as War of the Monsters.

The PS Plus Extra games will be available to download and play from April 15, while Blue Prince launches on April 10.
