This lesser-known seaside town is a favourite for many who visit its pretty beach and vibrant streets. With warm summer weather hitting the UK, it's the perfect time of year to enjoy a coastal break and this town could be the ideal place for a staycation.
Sheringham in Norfolk is a much-loved spot for those looking to escape to the coast and it's no surprise Brits love it so much. It is home to an incredible Blue Flag beach and is located on the Deep History Coast Discovery Trail. It is also in close proximity to the Cromer Shoal Chalk Beds Marine Conservation Zone, known as the UK's Great Barrier Reef, meaning there's a range of things to do and see for tourists.

One visitor on Tripadvisor said: "The mile long promenade at Sheringham is one of the joys of north Norfolk.
"The delightfully beautiful but underpopulated beach, dark skeletal groynes, and rolling waves still provoke a joyful relaxing caress of the senses. May it long remain. Relish your visit."
Another penned: "An absolutely amazing town and beach. I've been coming here for about 14 years and will continue to come in the summer months.
"The beach is well maintained with a lifeguard station where the boat ramp is located. The beach is a very short walk from the main village centre which is useful as that is where most of the holiday homes are located for visitors to stay.
"There is an ice cream shop on the board walk above the beach and a seat to overlook the sea."
The traditional seaside town is also home to a heritage steam railway, shops selling local produce and fantastic coastal and countryside walks.
Sheringham was once an old fishing village and that heritage is still evident today in museums and on murals that decorate the promenade.
If you're looking for a peaceful holiday in the UK, Sheringham could be the perfect place for you.
